Day by day Prayer Notes

PRAYER NOTES FOR IMPACT AFRICA MISSION TRIP 2012

JULY 5th – 25th

Over the next three weeks our Aussie team of 28 will be involved in various ministry opportunities. These will include: Vacation Bible School, Prison Ministry, Paper Distribution into various areas, Youth Ministry, Christian Leader Institute training, Police Cell Ministry and several new prisons in the Rustenberg area as well as a wonderful teaching opportunity for David Kemp in Diepkloof Prison. We will also be involved in Sunday ministry in Churches over three Sundays. Please pray that as a team we will be open to what the Lord wants to teach us as we are stretched in our walk with Him.

Thursday 5th

Pray
for all the organisational details of booking onto aircraft and a safe journey. Our flight leaves Perth at 11.50pm and will take approximately 12 hours.

Pray
that we get all of our mission equipment and supplies through customs with no delay.

Pray
for those who remain behind that they will feel a sense of peace about family and friends going to South Africa.

Friday 6th

Pray
for the team as we settle in at the campsite and for minimal jetlag (arrival time will be 5.30am local time). Continue to pray for the team to “meld” together.

Pray
for the team as they have a day of “recovery” and begin to organise various aspects of ministry for the coming week. Pray that each team member will have a sense of their place on the team and for a good night’s rest.

Pray
for safety and security at the campsite as well as at the various places of ministry.

Saturday 7th

Pray
for Orientation with Multi Ministries as the staff from South Africa presents the various parts of the program. Pray that each team member will be attentive and be able to absorb the information quickly.

Pray
for the VBS team as they get together with the Mayfair Team to arrange the program for the week. Praise God that we have been able to secure a primary school for our venue again this year.

Pray
for the weather in Johannesburg throughout the trip as it can be freezing around this time of the year so sickness can be an issue

Pray
for Tony and Maria Verlaan and Kevin Vigus as they head off to Swaziland for the first CLI School. Pray for safety in travel and pray that the Lord will bless each Pastor and Church Leader attending. Praise God that Tony has made his vehicle available for the journey.

Sunday 8th

Pray
for those who will be sharing in various services this morning, preaching and testimonies will be given and pray that the churches we are in will be prepared for the message rather fulfilling their “duty” to the visiting team.

Pray
the evening services we will be involved in. Pray that the team will be able to “mingle” with the congregation and share the vision of Impact Teams.

Pray
for the team as they prepare for the first day of ministry in prison, at Vacation Bible School and afternoon ministry in Octavia Town. Pray for safety of the team in all these situations

Monday 9th

Pray

Pray
that the VBS program runs smoothly and that there is the maximum impact as the kids respond to the good news of Jesus Christ. Please note that this ministry will be happening every day through to Friday 13th July.

Pray
particularly that the Lord will undertake with the language barriers and that the children will attend every day. Praise the Lord for the Mayfair team and the great assistance they will be with any language difficulties we may encounter.

Pray
for successful afternoon ministry today in the Octavia Town complex, that it will be well organised and pray for our safety on the streets of central Johannesburg.

Pray
for David Kemp as he begins a week’s basic bible training for a group of prisoners in Johannesburg Central Correctional facility. Pray the Lord will give him a good program and hearts prepared for the message.

Tuesday 10th

Pray
for Kevin and Tony in Swaziland as they continue Christian Leaders Institute training. Pray that the pastors and church leaders attending have an open heart and will be able to absorb teaching. Pray that Kevin & Tony will maintain good health and will be able to present the program as the Lord would have them present it. Pray for many opportunities for Kevin, Tony and Maria to share the Gospel.

Pray
for the physical, mental and spiritual health of the team as the reality of mission “kicks” in and the demands of a busy schedule unfold.

Pray
for afternoon ministry in the Newton Apartment complex where we trust the Lord for many opportunities to share the Gospel as we distribute Challenge.

Praise
for the wonderful generosity of many churches and individuals who have given so freely to our various projects

Wednesday 11th

Pray
for safety particularly for the teams travelling to and from ministry areas. We have prison and VBS teams going in different directions and the traffic and roads can be very difficult at times.

Pray
for our open air meeting and provision of lunch to the homeless in Vredepark this afternoon. Pray that our team will have great freedom to share Jesus with many folk as they come into the park.

Pray
for Tony, Maria and Kevin as they leave Swaziland and head back to Johannesburg for safe travel and a great time of fellowship together.

Pray
for Kevin, Tony and Maria as they depart again for a long drive to the Kimberley for this year’s second CLI. Pray for safety on the roads and pray they will be able to rest well during and after a long journey. Praise for those Pastors and leaders who will travel long distances to attend. Pray also for other ministry opportunities as they have the opportunity to distribute Challenge newspapers.

We are looking to see God not only reach into the lives of the children but also the lives of the parents who will be attending. We will spend the morning going to high rise flats and sharing one on one with whoever we meet. The Gospel Outreach Centre will also be conducting various rallies throughout the day and we will have some on our team having the opportunity to share a message.

Pray
for the Lord’s protection as Johannesburg central has been abandoned by business and is left to mainly refugees from other African countries and they are a people wide open to the gospel.
Just to give you an idea in a one bedroom flat you can have up to four families living together. Pray the Lord will open many doors and they will understand and accept the message of salvation.
